This article outlines how to edit your data in CAMS, including both individual and bulk edits. You can make changes using the in-app interface or by downloading, editing, and re-uploading your data.
For Admins or Editors
Step-by-step: Editing data
-
From the homepage, select the module that contains the data you want to edit. This will open the relevant data set.
-
In the left-hand menu, open the Hierarchy tab and select the level you want to edit.
-
Click the drop-down arrow beside that level and choose Edit Data.
-
Use the search or filter options to locate the records you want to edit.
-
To edit a single record, click the green pencil icon next to the entry. After making your changes, select Save to apply the updates.
Bulk editing via spreadsheet
-
After locating the records you wish to edit, click the Download button at the bottom of the page.
-
Save and open the spreadsheet on your device.
-
Make your changes directly in the spreadsheet. Do not change the ‘Id’ column, as it is used by CAMS to match existing records.
-
Return to the Edit Data tab and click the Import button to upload the updated spreadsheet.
-
CAMS will scan the file and display any errors in a separate window. Each issue will be listed line-by-line.
Fixing errors
-
Click Correction Sheet to download a file showing the issues. Problem areas will be highlighted in red.
-
Make corrections based on the system’s suggestions, save the spreadsheet, and upload it again using the Import button.
-
Repeat this process until all errors have been resolved.
Once your file is error-free:
-
Click Confirm to apply your changes.
-
Your updated records will be saved to the database.
Additional Notes
-
Do not alter or delete the ‘Id’ column in the spreadsheet. This column ensures the system edits the correct entries.
-
You can return to this process at any time to make further changes.
