This article explains how to delete individual records or bulk data within CAMS. Deleting data is a sensitive action, so please review all selections carefully before confirming any deletions.
For Admins or Editors
Deleting individual records
Note: This function is not available when using CAMS on mobile for data collection.
Locate the record
Navigate to the relevant module (for example, Building Component > Edit Data).
Use the search or filter tools to find the record you want to delete.
Select and delete
Click the delete icon next to the record.
Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Verify deletion
Make sure the record no longer appears in the list.
Refresh the page if needed.
For Admins
Deleting data in bulk
Access the bulk delete feature
Go to the level where you want to delete data.
In the left-hand menu, select Delete Data.
Filter records
Use filters to define the data set (for example, by location or asset type).
Click Download Datasheet to export the filtered records.
Review selection
Open the spreadsheet and remove any rows that you do not want to delete.
Keep only the records you intend to remove.
Upload and confirm deletion
Upload the updated datasheet.
Click the Delete button to proceed.
Confirm the deletion in the dialog box.
Monitor job status
Go to Job Status in the menu.
Check that the deletion job is marked as Completed.

Permissions
Bulk deletion is only available to Admins. If you cannot access the Delete Data option, contact your system administrator.Accuracy
Always double-check your selection before confirming any deletion. Deleted records cannot be recovered.Hierarchy impact
Deleting records at lower levels may affect related data at higher levels. Review your filters and selection carefully.
