Mobile Data Prepare (Step 6 of Mobile Configuration)

Overview

This is the final step in the mobile configuration workflow. It allows Admins only to run the preparation process that publishes all mobile inspection settings and data for use in the CAMS Mobile App.

Preparing the mobile data generates the necessary configuration files, links, and structure required for the mobile app to function with the latest hierarchy, field, and widget setup.

Important: Once mobile data is prepared for a module, you can no longer change the following unless all inspection records are completed or deleted:

• Main hierarchy (Step 1)

• Filter hierarchy (Step 2)

• Category for mobile inspection photos and Unique Identifier (Step 3)

This step is not visible to Inspectors. Your Admin team handles preparing the data and syncing it with your mobile inspection app.

When to Prepare Mobile Data

You should run the Prepare Mobile Data process:

• After completing all six mobile configuration steps

• Whenever the hierarchy (Primary or Secondary) structure or naming is updated

• If asset-level data or hierarchy values in the database are added or changed

• Any time online data changes that need to be reflected on the mobile app

Note: This ensures that both configuration and content (such as assets or hierarchy updates) are synchronised with the mobile app.

How to Prepare

1. Review all configuration steps (1–5) and confirm your settings are correct.

2. Click Prepare Mobile Data.

3. The system will generate the required data package for syncing to mobile devices.

4. You can monitor the progress of this process from the Status menu.

Note: The preparation process may take some time depending on the volume of data involved.

Tip: Run this process any time you make changes to asset metadata, hierarchy levels, field visibility, or widget layout to ensure inspectors see the latest updates in the field.
