Overview
The Mobile Configuration process in CAMS allows administrators to customise the mobile inspection experience for field users. This setup ensures that inspectors are presented with relevant data, hierarchies, and tools specific to your organisation's workflows and asset types.
This feature is only available to Admins and should be completed before enabling mobile inspections.
The mobile configuration process consists of six key steps:
For Inspectors
This feature is not available to Inspectors. Mobile Configuration is handled by your Admin team to ensure your inspection experience is tailored and streamlined for field use.
For Admins
Step 1: Mobile Hierarchy Configuration (Primary Hierarchy)
Define which Primary Hierarchy (e.g. locations or zones) is made available in the mobile app. This controls how inspectors will navigate physical spaces in the app.
Step 2: Mobile Hierarchy Filter Configuration (Secondary Hierarchy)
Configure the Secondary Hierarchy used for assets, equipment, or components. Set up filtering rules to determine which subsets of data are shown to inspectors, optimising usability and performance.
Step 3: Mobile Essential Configuration
Select the essential data required for inspections. This includes core fields, metadata, and references that need to be available on the mobile app.
Step 4: Mobile Inspection Fields Configuration
Set up which fields appear on mobile inspection forms. This may include required fields, default values, and visibility settings based on context or hierarchy.
Step 5: Mobile Inspection Widgets Configuration
Configure visual inspection tools such as toggles, dropdowns, image capture, and more to streamline the mobile inspection workflow.
Step 6: Mobile Data Prepare
Finalise and publish your mobile configuration. This step ensures all selected data, fields, and widgets are synced and made available for inspectors.
